Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about posting a job, quoting work, and how payment works.
For Customers
How do I find a reliable handyman in Regina?+
GetHandy connects you with approved local providers in Regina within minutes. Browse provider profiles, read reviews as jobs get completed, and request quotes for the work you need. Every GetHandy provider is reviewed and approved before they can quote, and your payment is held safely in the app until the job's done — so you're not taking chances with random Facebook Marketplace posts.
What does GetHandy charge for services?+
You don't pay to post a job or to collect quotes. Providers quote their own price for your job, and payment is handled securely through Stripe and held until the work is done. The price you see on a quote is the price you pay — no hidden booking fees or surprise charges.
How does GetHandy vet providers?+
Every provider applies and is reviewed and approved by our team before they can quote a single job — nobody quotes anonymously. We collect reviews after every completed job, so a provider's track record builds publicly over time. Your payment is also held safely in the app until the work is done, so you're never handing cash to a stranger. That's the difference from posting on Facebook or Kijiji.
Can I book same-day services in Saskatoon?+
Same-day work depends on who is approved and free near you. When you post a job you can mark it as urgent, and approved locals in your area are notified straight away — you'll see quotes come back with the timing each provider can commit to. We're still building out coverage town by town, so same-day isn't guaranteed everywhere yet.
What services does GetHandy offer?+
GetHandy offers a wide range of local services across Saskatchewan, including home cleaning, move-in/out cleaning, handyman repairs, installations, painting, lawn mowing, landscaping, garden maintenance, snow removal, driveway clearing, babysitting, after-school care, fencing, animal care, and acreage help.
How do I pay for services?+
All payments are handled securely through Stripe. You can pay with credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. You pay when you accept a quote, but the money is held — the provider can see it's there and can't touch it, and approving the finished work is what releases it. GetHandy never stores your full payment details, and all transactions are encrypted.
What if I'm not satisfied with the service?+
Raise it before you approve the job — that's the moment that matters, because your payment is still being held. Contact us and we'll work with you and the provider on it; both sides get to explain, and depending on what happened that can mean a redo, a partial refund, or a credit. To be straight with you: GetHandy isn't a guarantee or an insurer, and we don't promise a particular outcome. What we do is hold the money until you've approved the work, so there's still something to resolve.
What cities does GetHandy serve in Saskatchewan?+
GetHandy is live across Saskatchewan, including Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Swift Current, Prince Albert, rural communities, and smaller towns. Post your job in the live web app and local providers within range can quote it.
How is GetHandy different from TaskRabbit or Thumbtack?+
GetHandy is built specifically for Saskatchewan communities. Unlike national platforms, we understand the unique needs of prairie living — from farm help to extreme winter services. Everyone who quotes is a local who has been reviewed and approved first, and reviews build up publicly as jobs get completed, so you can judge who you're hiring on real community feedback.
Is GetHandy available in rural Saskatchewan?+
Yes — GetHandy is designed with rural Saskatchewan in mind. Providers set their own travel radius when they sign up, so acreages, farms, and rural municipalities are in scope. Coverage depends on which approved providers are available near you.
For Providers
How do I become a GetHandy provider?+
Create a GetHandy account in the live web app, complete your profile, add your services and travel area, and submit the required verification details. Once approved, you can quote nearby jobs.
How much can I earn with GetHandy?+
You quote each job yourself, so your earnings depend on your rates, your trade, and how much work you take on. There are no caps, and payouts are automatic — no invoicing, no chasing. Standard deposits are free and usually arrive 1–2 business days after they start. What you earn comes down to the jobs you win.
What are GetHandy's platform fees?+
The platform fee is paid by the customer on top of your quote, not deducted from it — you receive 100% of what you quoted. It's shown upfront before anyone accepts a job. There are no signup fees and no surprise deductions, and we handle payment processing, customer support, and marketing.
Do I need insurance to be a GetHandy provider?+
We recommend providers carry appropriate insurance for their trade, but it's not required for all service types. For services like cleaning and babysitting, insurance is optional. For trades work like electrical or plumbing, you should have proper licensing and insurance. We'll discuss this during onboarding.
What areas can I serve as a provider?+
You define your service area when you set up your profile. You can choose specific cities, towns, or set a radius from your home base. Many providers in rural Saskatchewan serve multiple communities. You can adjust your service area anytime.
